Six months ago, Elle UK started a search for the most stylish of shop girls for their "Shop Girl to Stylist"competition. About 400 up-and-coming stylists entered, for the chance to win an internship at the Elle offices.

Elle magazine's editor-in chief Lorraine Candy was joined by Giles Deacon, Katie Hillier, Arianne Phillips and Ben Grimes on the judging panel, to choose a winner from the 10 finalists.
The competition came close with a presentation ceremony at the May Fair Hotel, in London. Katie Smyth from Dublin and Sarah Ineson from York were announced as the two runners-up. In the end 23 year-old Elizabeth Black from London was declared the winner.
Elizabeth is a shop assistant at the Soho branch of Beyond Retro, who says, her influences as "60s French film stars and British eccentrics". Her laidback style presents cool clashing prints in an edgy yet, elegant manner.
Elizabeth was awarded with an internship at Elle, and the chance to style her own shoot to appear in the magazine, as well as the chance to offer her styling skills to sisters, Lily Allen and Sarah Owen at their vintage boutique, Lucy in Disguise.
